How Manuscript Evaluations Help You
Evaluations help you understand your writing skill strengths and weaknesses and give you ideas for how you can make your manuscript more engaging and enjoyable for your readers.

Your manuscript will be read and assessed for structure, plot, pacing, effectiveness of message delivery, characterization, character arcs, worldbuilding, dialogue, narrative, scene construction, overuse of words and phrases, grammar, and punctuation.
​
You will receive a detailed editorial letter explaining what aspects of your novel could use some shoring up as well as what elements of your writing and storytelling are solid and what you may want to concentrate on strengthening.
​
Manuscript evaluations will not only help you improve your fiction novel but also prepare you for writing your next manuscript!
Giveaway Guidelines

You must be an author who identifies as female.

Your manuscript must be complete.

Your manuscript must be written in English.
-
Your manuscript must be between 50-90k words.

Your manuscript must be a stand-alone novel or the first in a series.

The genre must fall into one of these categories. Speculative fiction, fantasy, mystery, thriller, or suspense.

You must submit the first 10 pages of your manuscript by June 30th, 2023.

Submissions must be sent via email in an attachment as an unformatted, double-spaced, MS Word document, 12pt. Times New Roman font to KristinNoland@NolandEditing.com. The subject of the email must be ‘MS Giveaway Submission.’

No rape, molestation, explicit sex scenes, or pictures.

Accompanying your submission must be a synopsis and pitch letter.

If you are shortlisted, you must meet with me in a 15-minute chat to discuss your novel and specific aspects of your story you are concerned about by July 21st, 2023.

If you win the giveaway, you must send the full manuscript to KristinNoland@NolandEditing.com by July 31st, 2023.
The winner will be notified on July 28th, 2023 and announced on Twitter and LinkedIn on August 1st, 2023.

A contract will be sent to you accept the free manuscript review, so you know you and your work are protected.
The review will be completed and returned to you by October 31st, 2023.
